dc.description.abstract The present global technological dispensation poses enormous risks to digital objects by threatening their longevity and continued accessibility. This necessitates the need for archivists to proactively instigate sustainable interventions to mitigate identified and anticipated risks so as to preserve these digital resources. Nonetheless the strategies that can be adopted by individual organisations may not always be feasibly viable. The present paper is a synopsis of the findings of a PhD thesis in Information Studies, whose purpose was to investigate digital archiving practices in selected Kenyan universities, with a view to developing a framework for sustainable maintenance of digital archives. en_US
