dc.description.abstract The practices that are summarized hereunder have been grouped into three levels of application with respect to the labour process: First stage of labour, second stage of labour and the immediate care of the newborn. All the practices mentioned in the five categories: Freedom of movement throughout labour; continuous labour support; spontaneous pushing in upright or gravity-neutral positions; no separation of mother and baby at birth with unlimited opportunities for breastfeeding and no routine interventions will be discussed en_US
