dc.description.abstract The study investigated the relationship between students' self concept, perception of their parents' attitudes and career aspirations. It also investigated gender difference in the students self concept, perception of their parents' attitudes and career aspirations. The study was undertaken in Trans Nzoia district. The sample consisted of six secondary schools in the District. One hundred and twenty female students (120) and one hundred and twenty male students (120) in form three classes. The schools were selected using purposive sampling and students were selected using the random number sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire. Statistical analysis of data was carried out using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient to test relationships between variables. The results of the study showed that there was significant relationship between boys' career aspirations and their self concept. (r=0.193, p<0.05) at 5% level of significance. It was recommended that parents should take an active role to enhance the potentials of their children. They are the role models hence can make them develop positive self concepts. en_US
