<description>triggers of port relocation
Kavale, Stanley
Ports are capital intensive strategic investments. Before a port is set, a lot of feasibility study, environmental study and stakeholder analysis is seriously carried out. Despite this, there are a number of triggers that may precipitate port relocation. The role of this paper is to establish the triggers of port relocation. The paper will begin with a literature review and a discussion on triggers of port relocation. Case studies of world port relocations will be addressed. The paper will cover the triggers of port relocation and the relative effects of each trigger on port relocation. Factors like economic, social, environmental, political, infrastructural, nautical will be addressed. Data will be collected by use of a structured questionnaire to assess the ranking of these triggers. The triggers will be arranged as per their order of effects
