Abstract: Studies and reports indicate that insecurity for children exists in schools as a result of lack of safety policy adherence. The purpose of this study was to analyze safety standard measures put in place to ensure safety of learners in primary boarding schools in the north rift region, Kenya. The study employed convergent design. The targeted population was derived from 161 Public and Private Primary Boarding Schools in the North Rift Region. The target population was 813. The sample size for this study was 685. The study used questionnaires, interview schedules, focus group discussion and observation checklist as the main instruments of data collection. A pilot study was conducted before the main study in order to ascertain the reliability and validity of research instruments. Data were both quantitative and qualitative. Data were analyzed using thematic method. The study revealed that there was positive linear effect of safety standard measures put in place on safety of learners (β=.980, p=0.000). The study concluded that safety standard measures be put in place to ensure safety of learners in primary boarding schools in North Rift Region. The Ministries of Education, Public Works and Health through their officers in the counties should ensure that as schools are built also the required sanitation facilities should be constructed alongside the classes.
