Abstract: We report a very rare case of primary bilateral ovarian Burkitt’s lymphoma. A 17-year-old girl was referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital 2 weeks after cesarean section that was performed at a peripheral facility. A pelvic mass had been noted during cesarean section, and a biopsy of the mass had been taken. On examination, the abdomen was distended with ascites and palpable pelvic masses. Serum CA125 was elevated. Initial diagnosis was ovarian malignancy. An exploratory laparotomy was done, and bilateral ovarian masses were found, as well as ascites and omental caking. Histological findings and immunohistochemical staining confirmed Burkitt’s lymphoma. Evaluation of bone marrow aspirate and peripheral blood film yielded normal findings. Postoperatively, patient deteriorated and died 19 days following surgery, before initiation of chemotherapy.
