Issue Date: Sep-2010
Abstract: With innovation in Education ? teaching and learning, focus is turning away from the teacher centred approaches to the student centred approaches. This book discusses the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach. PBL is a student centred and competencies driven approach in which students are often asked to work in a team and do a lot of self directed learning. The book is important in guiding students in transition from the traditional teacher centred models to an independent style of learning. It also provides a basis for designing counselling programmes to nurture positive attitudes among students. The information herein provides guidance for the improvement of training of health professionals and other professionals in tertiary training institutions which use traditional education approaches and wish to establish PBL in their training programmes. The book is recommended for all Educationists.
